Use App home when a merchant asks about the first screen of AIOD Discount & Gift or the app dashboard.

Entry point

In Shopify admin, open Apps > AIOD Discount & Gift. AIOD opens the app home page at the app root. The page title is AIOD (All-In-One Discount) & Gifts and the subtitle says: “One app to replace all other discount apps!” The top right of the page has two controls:
  • Create discount — starts a new discount. When the store already has discounts, it opens Discount Templates.
  • A bell button that opens Latest updates.

Latest updates

The bell button at the top right of the home page, to the right of Create discount, opens a Latest updates dropdown with AIOD announcements, such as security notices. A red dot on the bell means there is an update the merchant has not opened yet. Opening the dropdown clears the dot. The read state is remembered per browser. The dropdown header shows Latest updates and the number of updates. Each entry shows:
  • A tag: Security, New, or Fixed.
  • The date.
  • A title and the first line of the text.
Click an entry to expand it (Read more) or collapse it (Show less). An expanded entry can show a green callout, such as “Not affected. No action needed.”, and a link to an external notice. The newest unread entry opens already expanded. The list ends with “You’re all caught up”. Observed entries: Treat entries as announcements, not settings. Neither entry requires merchant action.

Connect MCP

The home page shows a Connect to AI agents card below Your Discounts: “Use your discounts from Claude, ChatGPT or any AI agent via MCP.” Its Connect MCP button opens a dialog titled Connect AIOD (All-In-One Discount) & Gifts to your AI assistant for connecting the AIOD MCP server to an AI client. The dialog has three tabs: The dialog explains that the merchant is sent back to Shopify admin to approve the connection, and that a connected assistant can read discounts and build new ones but can never make a discount live for shoppers. Dialog buttons: Read AIOD MCP server for what the MCP server does and Quickstart for the full connection steps.

Onboarding Steps To Get Started

The home page shows an expandable Onboarding Steps To Get Started section with a completion count, such as 2/3 completed. When expanded, the observed onboarding steps are: The section also has a Watch Demo Video link. Use Enable Now when a merchant needs to activate the AIOD theme extension from the home page.

Dex, your AI discount assistant

Dex is AIOD’s in-app AI assistant. The merchant describes a promotion in plain English, and Dex picks the template, fills the discount form, and opens it in the editor. Nothing goes live until the merchant saves and activates the discount. The home page card is titled Dex, your AI discount assistant.

Ask Dex panel

An Ask Dex button sits at the bottom-right of every AIOD page. It opens Dex in a panel docked on the right side of the page, so the merchant can keep working while Dex answers. Close it with the arrow at the top-right of the panel. The panel header shows Dex with a Beta badge and a history control for past conversations. A new conversation opens with the greeting: “Hi, I’m Dex. I can set up a discount, improve the one you’re editing, or dig into how your store is selling.” What the merchant can do in the panel: After Dex changes a discount in the editor, it checks the storefront preview. It shows “I checked the storefront preview and it looks right.”, or a Something looks off in the preview notice that lists what it found. When a setting can only be turned on in the editor, Dex names the exact checkbox for the merchant to select, instead of saying it can’t be done. The panel footer shows which AI assistants are connected through the AIOD MCP server (“Also connected: …”). If none are connected, it shows “Use Dex’s tools in Claude or ChatGPT.” with a Connect link that opens the Connect MCP dialog.

Full Dex page

Dex also has its own page. Open it from the AIOD app navigation (Dex AI). The page is titled Dex, with the subtitle “Tell Dex what kind of discount you want, and it will prepare the setup for you.” It has two panels: Chat Configuration Shows “Your discount configuration will appear here after the AI generates it.” After Dex runs, the generated discount appears here for the merchant to review before opening it in the editor.

Needs review

When Dex finds a discount idea in the store’s order data, the home page shows a Needs review card: “Ideas Dex found in your store’s data”. Each row shows the proposed discount and why. Row actions:
  • Review with Dex — opens the Dex panel with that idea, so the merchant can review it and create the discount.
  • Dismiss — removes the idea.
See all opens the Suggestions page (titled Suggestions from Dex), which lists every open idea. Open it from the AIOD app navigation (Suggestions).

Your Discounts

The Your Discounts section lists existing AIOD discounts and provides shortcuts to create or manage discounts. Top controls:
  • Ask Dex
  • Create New Discount
The table columns are: Observed row actions are icon-only buttons for editing, duplicating, and toggling or viewing discount status. Click Create New Discount to start a manual discount from Discount Templates. Click Ask Dex to create a discount with Dex.

Bulk actions

Select one or more discount rows with the table checkboxes to show bulk actions above the table. The bulk toolbar shows the selected count, such as 1 discount selected, 2 discounts selected, or 3 discounts selected. Observed bulk actions: Use the header checkbox to select all visible discount rows.

Discounts that use a deprecated function

AIOD flags discounts that still run on its deprecated discount function. These discounts will stop working soon and need to be switched to the latest function. When at least one discount is affected, Your Discounts shows a critical banner titled Action required: switch deprecated discounts: “Discounts marked Action required below use a deprecated discount function and will stop working soon. Open each one, follow the instructions to switch to the latest function, and test it once afterward because behavior may vary slightly.” Each affected discount shows a red Action required badge next to its name. Hovering the badge shows “Duplicate this discount to switch to the latest function”. Opening an affected discount shows a critical banner titled Switch to Latest Discount Function: “This discount uses a deprecated discount function and will stop working soon. Duplicate it now and save it to auto switch to the latest discount function, and test it once afterward because behavior may vary slightly.” To switch a discount:
  1. Open the discount and click Duplicate, or use the Duplicate discount row action in Your Discounts.
  2. Save the copy. The saved copy uses the latest discount function.
  3. Test the copy, for example in Testing mode, because behavior may vary slightly.
  4. Duplicating does not change the original discount. Deactivate or delete the original once the copy works, so both don’t run at the same time.
Discounts on the latest function show no badge.

Book a free set up call

The home page can show a support card titled Book a free set up call. The card says: “Setting up discounts can be tricky. We’re here to help!” Controls:
  • Schedule Meeting
  • Dismiss book a call card
Use Schedule Meeting when the merchant wants help from the AIOD team.

Share your feedback

The home page can show a feedback card titled Share your feedback. The card asks: “How would you describe your experience using our app?” Controls:
  • Good
  • Bad
  • Dismiss share feedback card
Use this card only for app experience feedback, not discount configuration.

What’s new card

Below the feedback card, the home page can show a dismissible announcement card, observed as AIOD (All-In-One Discount) & Gifts now powered by Rust! with the line “Enjoy faster, smoother performance on large carts and heavy discount setups.” and a New in this update list. Treat it as a changelog notice, not a setting.

Create Discount Widgets

The home page includes a Create Discount Widgets section. It says: “Boost sales with high-converting discount widgets like Discount Callout, Price Strike-through, Progress Bar, Free Gift, and more.” The section shows widget previews such as:
  • Discounted price strike-through.
  • Progress bar.
  • Discount callout.
  • Free gift.
Read Discount Widgets for the full widget list and widget settings. Read Show Discounted Price Crossout for the shared crossout pricing UI and placement details.

Status cards

Below the widgets section, the home page shows three status cards: The home page can show a dismissible Recommended Apps section: “Checkout our suite of apps to help you increase conversion rates and boost your sales.” It lists third-party Shopify apps in a horizontal carousel, each with an Install App or Start For Free button. These are not AIOD features.

Support

The preferred support method is the live chat bubble. It floats in the bottom-left of every AIOD app page and connects the merchant to instant human support. The Ask Dex button at the bottom-right is the AI assistant, not support. The second support method is email: [email protected]. The third support method is booking a call. Merchants can find the Book a call button on the AIOD home tab and the Pricing tab.
