Use Settings when a merchant wants to configure global AIOD storefront behavior rather than a single discount template.

Entry point

In Shopify admin, open Apps > AIOD Discount & Gift > Settings. The Settings hub shows five settings areas: Click a settings area to open its form. Subpages include a back control, observed as Go back or Go to Home Screen, that returns to the settings hub.

Widget Selector Settings

Open Settings > Widget Selector Settings. Use this page to add CSS selectors that control where AIOD widgets appear on the storefront. AIOD shows this note: “NOTE: Here you can add the specific selectors to display the widgets at those locations in your store. It’s recommended that you take help of a Developer to get the correct selectors or contact our support team.”

Global placement selectors

The first sections set general placement targets. Each Position dropdown has:
  • Above
  • Below
  • Inside top
  • Inside bottom

Widget Specific Selectors

The Widget Specific Selectors section contains expandable widget groups. Observed groups:
  • Gift Banner
  • Progress Bar
  • Discount Callout
  • Offer Message Widget
  • Volume Bundle Widget
  • BXGY Widget
  • Upsell Widget
Click a group heading to reveal its selector fields. A group is collapsed when it has no configured selector. If at least one selector in a group is already configured, AIOD opens that group automatically.

Gift Banner selectors

When Gift Banner is expanded, AIOD shows:

Progress Bar selectors

When Progress Bar is expanded, AIOD shows:

Discount Callout selectors

When Discount Callout is expanded, AIOD shows:

Offer Message Widget selectors

When Offer Message Widget is expanded, AIOD shows:

Volume Bundle Widget selectors

When Volume Bundle Widget is expanded, AIOD shows:

BXGY Widget selectors

When BXGY Widget is expanded, AIOD shows:

Upsell Widget selectors

When Upsell Widget is expanded, AIOD shows:

Save Widget Selector Settings

Click Save Settings to save selector changes. The observed Save Settings button is disabled until a setting changes. When a change is made, Shopify also shows an Unsaved changes toolbar with Discard and Save.

Gift Settings

Open Settings > Free gift settings. The page title is Gift Settings. Use this page to control global gift add/remove popup messages, popup styling, typography, manual gift quantity behavior, and cart auto reload behavior (both during and after the reload) for gifts.

Gift Messages

The Gift Messages section says: “Configure the popup messages shown when a gift is added or removed from the cart. NOTE: Changes apply to all gifts.” Controls:

Gift message translations

Use Translations when the store sells in more than one language and the gift popups should match the shopper’s language. Click Translations on the Gift Messages card. AIOD opens a Translations modal:
  • With no translations yet, the modal shows No translations added yet and a Select a language to add dropdown (placeholder Choose a language…) listing the store’s languages.
  • After a language is added, it appears as a chip. Click a chip to edit that language, or its x to remove it. Use the Add Language dropdown to add another.
  • For the selected language, enter Gift Added Message and Gift Removed Message.
If the store has no additional languages, the modal shows “No additional languages are configured for your store.” and asks the merchant to create a market in Shopify admin Markets and assign it a new language first. Close the modal, then click Save Settings on Gift Settings to save the translations. On the storefront, the popup uses the translation for the shopper’s Shopify locale. AIOD tries the exact locale first, then the language without its region (for example fr for fr-CA). If a language or a message has no translation, the popup shows the default Gift Added Message or Gift Removed Message. The Popup Styles section customises the gift notification banner shown to customers. The section is visible only when Disable gift add/remove popup messages is unchecked.

Gift added popup

The Gift added popup section is shown when a free gift is added to the cart. Controls:
  • Live preview
  • Background color
  • Border color
  • Text color
  • Border radius (px) slider
Observed defaults:

Gift removed popup

The Gift removed popup section is shown when a free gift is removed from the cart. Controls:
  • Live preview
  • Background color
  • Border color
  • Text color
  • Border radius (px) slider
Observed defaults:

Typography

The Typography section says: “These settings apply to both popups.” Controls: This section is visible only when Disable gift add/remove popup messages is unchecked.

Manual gift quantity

The Allow quantity increase for manual gifts checkbox appears on Gift Settings. AIOD explains: “Will allow the user to increase the quantity but discount will only be applied according to the rules.” This checkbox remains visible when Disable gift add/remove popup messages is checked.

Instant gift add and remove

AIOD adds or removes an automatic free gift in the same cart request as the shopper’s own change, such as Add to cart or a quantity change in the cart. The theme’s cart then shows the right gifts without waiting for a second update. This is on by default for every store and has no setting on Gift Settings. When AIOD cannot predict the result of a cart request, the request goes through unchanged and AIOD adds or removes the gift right after it, as before. To turn instant gifts off, add this line under Custom JavaScript on Settings > Custom JS / CSS:

Cart auto reload function

The Cart auto reload function (For Developers) field appears on Gift Settings. Use this field to provide JavaScript that AIOD calls after a gift is added to or removed from the cart. Merchants or theme developers can use it to refresh the cart page, cart drawer, or cart UI without requiring a full page reload after each gift add or delete action. Example code pattern:
This is only an example. The exact function depends on the merchant’s theme and cart drawer implementation. AIOD explains: “This function will be called to update/reload the cart each time the gift is added or removed.”

After cart auto reload function

The After cart auto reload function (For Developers) field appears directly below Cart auto reload function. Placeholder observed:
AIOD explains: “This function will be called after the cart is updated when gift is added or removed.” Use it for behavior that must run once the cart refresh from Cart auto reload function has finished, such as opening the cart drawer.

Save Gift Settings

Click Save Settings to save gift setting changes. The observed Save Settings button is disabled until a setting changes. When a change is made, Shopify also shows an Unsaved changes toolbar with Discard and Save.

Custom JS / CSS

Open Settings > Custom JS / CSS. The page title is Custom JS / CSS (For Developers). Use this page to add global custom storefront CSS or JavaScript for AIOD behavior. Controls: AIOD warns: “JavaScript will run on your store on each load. Use with caution.” Click Save Settings to save custom CSS or JavaScript. The observed Save Settings button is disabled until a setting changes.

Global Settings

Open Settings > Global Settings. Use this page to configure storefront behavior that applies across AIOD rather than to one discount template.

Set custom locale

Set custom locale controls how currency is formatted in the strikethrough widget. The value is saved without leading or trailing spaces. Clearing the field removes the custom locale.

Cart offer evaluation notice

Cart offer evaluation notice is a toggle, unchecked by default. AIOD describes it as: “This banner appears on the storefront while cart changes and offers are evaluated.” When enabled, AIOD shows a storefront banner while it recalculates offers after a cart change. The settings page shows a live preview of the banner below the description. Turning the toggle on shows these controls:

Defer discount engine on non-commerce pages

Defer discount engine on non-commerce pages is a toggle, off by default. AIOD explains: “Loads the discount engine immediately on product, collection, and cart pages. On other pages, it loads after the main page content. This can improve page-load performance.” Turn it on when the merchant wants faster loading on pages such as the homepage, blog, or static pages. Product, collection, and cart pages are not affected.

Side cart initialization delay

Side cart initialization delay tells AIOD how long to wait after detecting the side cart before it initializes widgets.

Clear AIOD cache

Clear AIOD cache removes AIOD data cached in the current browser. AIOD describes this section as: “Clears locally cached data in this browser. Saved discounts and other settings are not affected.” Click Clear AIOD Cache to clear cached AIOD data in the current browser. Saved discounts and other AIOD settings are not affected.

Save Global Settings

Click Save Settings to save global settings. The observed Save Settings button is disabled until a setting changes. When a change is made, Shopify also shows an Unsaved changes toolbar with Discard and Save.

Tapcart

Open Settings > Tapcart. Use this page when the merchant sells through a Tapcart mobile app and wants AIOD discounts and free gifts in the app, including discounts that apply only in the app. The page title is Tapcart. Its back control is Settings.

Turn on Tapcart

The card App-exclusive discounts and free gifts in your Tapcart app explains: “The AIOD blocks in your Tapcart app mark app carts, so AIOD can tell an app order from a website order, and add free gifts in the app’s cart. They talk to Shopify directly. Turning this on lets your app read your AIOD gift rules (your theme already shows them to shoppers).” Click Turn on Tapcart. When Tapcart is on, the button changes to Turn off Tapcart. Turning Tapcart on also adds the Tapcart mobile app option to the Sales channel section of discount templates. Read Sales channel.

Setup in Tapcart

When Tapcart is on, AIOD shows Setup in Tapcart with these steps:
  1. Add the AIOD Channel block (no visible UI) to the Home, Product and Cart screens.
  2. Add the AIOD Free Gift block to the Cart screen and set its Rules namespace to aiod.
  3. In each AIOD discount, tick Tapcart mobile app under Sales channel. Untick Online store to make it app-exclusive.
AIOD also notes: “Tapcart must use Shopify checkout (web checkout and the Cart API). Ask your Tapcart account manager if you are not sure.”

Support

Settings pages show Contact support: followed by the AIOD support email.
