AIOD’s theme extension powers storefront features such as free-gift and promotional widgets. Enabling it does not require editing theme code. AIOD settings screen with widget, free gift, custom code, and global settings

Enable the app embed

  1. Open AIOD in Shopify admin.
  2. If AIOD shows Required: Theme Extension Should Be Enabled, click Activate theme extension.
  3. Shopify’s theme editor opens to the app embeds area.
  4. Turn on Latest Widget Manager.
  5. Click Save in the theme editor.
Enable the embed on the published theme customers actually use. If you are preparing a new theme, repeat the step after that theme is published.

Avoid the deprecated embed

If the theme lists both Widget Manager and Latest Widget Manager, use Latest Widget Manager. The older Widget Manager is deprecated and its functionality has been merged into the newer embed.

Verify the setup

  1. Return to AIOD and refresh the page.
  2. Confirm the extension warning is gone.
  3. Open the storefront in a private or incognito window.
  4. Build a cart that qualifies for the promotion.
  5. Confirm the expected widget, gift, or message appears.

If activation does not seem to work

  • Confirm you clicked Save after enabling the embed.
  • Confirm you edited the current published theme, not an unpublished copy.
  • Make sure Latest Widget Manager is enabled and the deprecated embed is disabled.
  • Test without cached storefront data by using a private window.
  • If the theme was recently changed or published, recheck its app embeds.
