Just ask
Which template gets used
All three are “tiered”, but they behave differently — and picking the wrong one isn’t cosmetic, because each allows a different set of fields.
Merchant-facing settings: Tiered/Volume Discount, Volume Discount / Bundle, Combined Multi Discounts.
What the agent does
- Reads the contracts — the three tiered templates differ in exactly the fields it’s about to write.
- Picks by the shape of the tiers: same condition with a rising number →
tiered_unified; one shared scope shown as bundle cards →volume_bundle; genuinely different per-tier conditions →combined_discount. - Writes every tier out in full, each with its condition and its reward.
- Decides stacking: by default the highest unlocked tier wins. Stacking every unlocked tier only happens if you explicitly ask.
- Drafts it and hands you a link.
Worth knowing
- Tiers have a specific shape. Each one needs a condition and a reward. An agent that invents its own tier format gets everything stripped and the draft rejected — which is why reading the contract first matters.
- By default only the best tier applies. If you want every unlocked tier to stack, say so.
- Exclusions behave differently between templates. In
tiered_unifiedan exclusion is campaign-wide — the editor shows one control and applies it to every tier. Incombined_discountit’s genuinely per-tier. - In
volume_bundle, every tier shares one scope and only the quantity changes. Adding a free gift to an offer needs its own matching gift tier. Widget copy, badges, styling, and layout can’t be set through MCP — configure those in the app.
